Association History
The Morehouse College Manhattan Alumni Association was chartered as a
corporation on October 19, 1990 by Kenneth M. McClure, Earl Andrews, Byron
Johns, Wendell Bristoll, Eugene Lowe, Sr., Robert T. Ross, and Edgar Smith.
Over the years the Association has demonstrated its commitment to Morehouse
and the community through programs and activities. These activities have
grown into three events that we sponsor on an annual basis.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Morehouse College Manhattan Alumni
Association, Inc. is interwoven with the goals of the College to provide
accessible education excellence for males primarily of African American
heritage leading to the development of quality community leaders. It is
our objective to achieve this mission through supporting the financial
growth of the College, assisting in recruitment of qualified students
and serving to better our African American community in New York. We believe
through our actions, the Morehouse College Manhattan Alumni Association
will continue to aid in the growth and prosperity of our alma mater, Morehouse
College.
Morehouse Manhattan Alumni Association
Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Morehouse Manhattan Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
Fund is the result of an effort by the New York alumni to aid financially
deserving students from the New York City metropolitan area. The endowment
intends to encourage the matriculation of young men who are academically
sound, spiritually conscious, and socially responsible. Criteria are as follows:
1. Demonstrated financial need
2. 3.0 GPA or better
3. Permanent resident of NY or NJ
4. Community service involvement
